We want you to feel as comfortable as possible before, during, and after surgery. To help prepare for your surgery, please review the information below. If you have any questions or concerns, please call

Financial Responsibility

You will be responsible for any amounts not covered by your insurance prior to surgery, such as deductibles, co-insurance, or out-of-pocket amounts. We recommend you contact your insurance company for details. Please be aware that the surgery center or hospital fees are separate from the physician fees. If you have any questions, please contact our office.

Pre-Operative Clinic Visit

You will need to schedule a pre-op visit with Dr. Adickes’ PA, two weeks prior to your surgery date. During the pre-op visit you will discuss the surgery, arrival time for surgery, recovery time, and physical therapy.

Surgical Clearance

Dr. Adickes requires surgical clearance. This includes a cardiovascular EKG within the last 6 months, lab work within the last 2 weeks, and that you be healthy enough for surgery. This can be completed at a scheduled pre-op clinic visit, or you can obtain a clearance with your family physician. If you have your surgical clearance with your family physician, it is your responsibility to confirm that Dr. Adickes has received the results prior to your surgery date.

Prior to Surgery

If you have any change in your physical condition prior to surgery, such as a cold, fever, sore throat, rash, or flu; please inform the office at .

(If you have a question on blood thinners, please inform Shae of all medications you are currently taking at your pre-op appointment.)
  • If you are taking medication for breathing, seizures, heart disease, or blood pressure, take them on the morning of surgery with a sip of water. You will also discuss medication recommendations during your pre-op visit.
